Matariki
Matariki is a time of reflection and a chance to reset for the new year ahead, so to celebrate, Mercy Radiology participated in the ‘Body WoFs’ winter wellness event organised by Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei.
The weekend event on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 June, took place at Tāmaki Vaccination Centre and provided health checks and care to the community and assisted whānau with the best ways to navigate their health.
Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei partnered with a number of organisations to provide health services over the weekend. The ‘Body WoFs’ consisted of five simple health checks; eyes, ears, teeth, cancer checks and vaccinations. Mercy Radiology offered fast-tracked lung and bowel screening to eligible patients.
Joseph Stafford, our very own Mercy Radiology, Patient Experience/Māori Outcomes Specialist, also spoke about the importance of early detection of cancer. A crucial message close to his heart, being a cancer survivor himself.
We would like to thank Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei for allowing us to be part of the successful event and for providing this service to the community.
Our Mercy Radiology screening initiatives help save lives. We offer bowel, heart and lung and breast screening. Learn how you can access them here https://radiology.co.nz/mercy-screening-programme
